A life size statue of Staff Sergeant Reckless is warranted me thinks.

  2. BARBARA K. says:

    THIS WAS WONDERFUL!
HARD TO UNDERSTAND HOW STILL WE HAVE THOSE WHO WISH TO ERADICATE THEM FROM THEIR FREEDOM, THEIR LAND AND THEIR LIFE. SHAME ON THE BLM AND THOSE WHO OPERATE BEHIND THE SCENES!

How many countless more stories like this one are out there?????? Was sent this by a friend , just saw it last week, Awesome,…………All please send to all your State Reps……………….. I did !!!!!!!! Horses are our greatest Allies, Bless all of them………………..

You’re absolutely right!! This story should be seen by everyone, especially our Representatives, Congressmen and Congresswomen. (-:

  4. Donna from Hamden says:

Should be a movie! We need more to promote our connection with horses.

  5. In another video I watched about this amazing horse, the service men had to do a collection so that she would not be left behind. It is deplorable to think of how many of these equine heroes, both long eared and short, were and are left behind to fend for themselves. This is true of the bomb sniffing dogs who have served so faithfully, as well. Bravo to Sgt. Reckless, she saved many lives.

  6. Nola Ross says:

well I never heard of her..what a wonderful story, wonderful girl. shows you the heart of a horse. I”m sure over the years there have been many wonderful brave horses like this. bless them..

  7. Christie says:

    Thanks for posting this story.

  8. Barbara Bryan says:

Thanks for the education about Reckless, I didn’t know about her but I do now. What an incredible horse!

  9. Gail says:

Great Great story. I agree someone should compile the stories about all these courage animals. I think now the service men and women working with some of the dogs are allowed to bring them home when their tour of duty is over. In some of the cases I have read about the airlines has picked up the tab to fly them home with their handler. Its about time the stories and the kudos should be given to them. Barbara K, you certainly make a good point. Only the greedy, misers and misfits want to see them eradicated. Most news media like doing stories like this. It probably should be passed along to them too.

  10. PATSY RAY says:

This is a touching story,,Reckless,,,For the hearts of horses ,,yea,

  11. CQ says:

What a beautiful tribute to the power of love and loyalty, qualities in abundance in every species. I cried watching this, thinking about how brave this little Mongolian mare was, how devoted the Marines were to her, how they cared for her to the very end instead of seeing her as a “resource” that could be “harvested” or abandoning her when they left Korea.

I also thought about how today there is a band of brave souls fighting — against the same government that trusted and honored Sgt. Reckless — to restore the freedom of our wild horses and burros.

I believe that Reckless is in the heart of every noble individual who is standing up for our equines against the delusional forces of evil that are using the BLM to do their bidding. Indeed, Reckless lives on.

Thank you for sharing this little filly’s story with us, R.T. Just think, someday the same unselfish love for one another will bring an end to all war, all killing, all predation, all oppression. “Love is the liberator.” ~ Mary Baker Eddy
