They used to do this. Someone said a lot of these Sun J people were former Cook contractors and Cook used to run them directly into the trucks. Photos are out there of this with horses trampled on the ground. These people think they are rounding up rats. Do not forget that.

Dear Savewildhorses , That is exactly what Bob Abbey calls our magnificent Mustangs, Rats with Hooves,and his entire BLM trerats them like Rats The Blm for me his creditability stopped the moment he said that 2 years ago………………………… At this point after seeing them unmercifully stampeded time after time, I have no use for him either…………………..This is horrible to watch or know that its being done, imagine how our mustangs feel ??? This Treachery, cannot be allowed to continue,by a civilized Nation, is there no injunction that can stop these fiends immediately?????????? They Must be Held ACCOUNTABLE for this disgusting display of no BRAINS……………………………. The BLM claims they do not stampede the horses? Apparently those highly paid “equine specialists” they hire are too dense to recognize stampeding horses when they see them. Either that or they have been deceived by their own lies so long that they wouldn’t know the truth if it smacked them in the face. That idiot flying the chopper has got to be grounded before he does any more damage! And the contractors around the traps are obviously brain dead when it comes to how to handle wild horses that have jsut been chased who knows how far and scared half out of their wits by that flying monster they do not understand then jammed in together with no avenue of escape. Where do they find people that will do what they do?
Your tenacity in observing and reporting is appreciated but we are not even slowing them down because they do not care what we say or think or who we forward these reports to. Sorry but I cannot see how anyone can watch those sub-humans treating horses the way they do and not take action to stop them on the spot. I could not do it so you all must be stronger than I am.

Some of us have tried since he came out strongly on the floor of the House. Unless you are one of his constitutents, whatever you send will not be accepted and you get an automated polite invitation to contact your own representative with your concerns. Our spirits are those of Warriors for liberty and our hearts are rent when watching the suffering of these special living beings that have been free since birth and have no defense against the measures being taken by humans to tear them from their land and rip apart their family structures. All they can do is try to escape by running, and running, and running with exhaustion and panic buidling inside when they see themselves being trapped. All horses are claustrophobic to varying degrees but in wild ones that tendency is magnified tremendously as part of their very survival as prey animals has depended on not allowing themselves to be cornered. Now this roaring thing in the sky directly above them cuts off all escape as it stings their bodies, eyes, tender noses, with sand and pebbles blown up all around them, forcing them into narrow chutes and steel barred enclosures with walls too high to leap over though some try with all their strength. Then two-legged zombies outside those walls begin shouting and waving frightening things at them trying to force them to enter that dark, scary cave (trailer or truck) that for all they know could be filled with horse eating predators. No longer able to flee, now s’ungTONkah wahTOHglah k’CHEzahpe – they fight for freedom and for life but instead are carried away lathered and frightened, jammed together inside this rumbling, bouncing cave with no idea where they will be. Sorry, that language does not easily lend itself to written English but it is how I wanted to say that the wild horse fights.
It is hard enough to watch on film, I could not see it being done in person and fail to act. So I must leave the observing to others and ask Wakantanka, The Great Spirit, to be with them.

Now do me a favor, please. Find the FAX line for your Senators and Congressional Representatives… and flood the FAX machines demanding that a program that was NEVER implemented as intended… that is so filled with conflicts of interest that it should be illegal… that does NOT comprehend or care about the broad sweep genetic bankruptcy being carried out in an inhumane fashion (as if it was built in 1910 and never evolved passed stone-age concepts of humane care) be investigated top to bottom.
Would you do that for me?
Take a half an hour and compose a short letter … and FAX it until you get a response.
The name of todays game was: how do you put your observers closer than 1.5 miles and set them back just far enough that they can’t really see and obscure what they can see to make documentation as difficult as possible?
We could see when horses broke from the trap on our side but not the back… we could see that there was at least one single horse chased but I can’t tell you how far. We could see that the contractor has yet AGAIN set the trap with panels set at a right angle and horses hit it right where the saddle horses are tied but I can’t tell you what happened. I can’t get a respiration rate or even attempt to assess for injuries even in photos taken with a significant lens enlarged on the computer.
And yes… there were stunning, amazing, hearty, beautiful horses taken today

I’m as mad and frustrated as can be, and I think we need to diversify and strengthen our efforts in order to save the wild horses and burros – the ones who still remain free, AND those who are in imprisoned in holding pens. I’ve had a feeling they may step up the pace to do as much damage as possible BEFORE the March meeting.

Looks to me they are trying to hid all the evidence as quickly as possible – gather them and them rush into the trailer so no eyes can see anything. Where are these wild horses going anyway? Do we really know?

WHEN YOU GO TO PHOENIX, take your handy “carrot stick,’ dressage whip, or whatever you have, and get there early. Take a plastic bag in your pocket too. Bring your old Easy Boots of course. Make a cordon around the entrances to the Board meeting, attach your plastic bags to your happy sticks, and “gather” the Board members into the meeting room, like you saw the horses loaded into the trailers. Leave your sticks outside, ruffians, but put your plastic bags back in your pockets. Now you have a choice. Wave your Easy Boots at the Board to show the horses’ displeasure, or wave your plastic bags when they talk about the necessity for roundups, how humane they are, or whatever b.s. (literally) is coming out of their mouths.
Has local and national media been invited to this Board meeting? We want to peacefully but directly expose the country to what is happening folks. We want what is happening to these beautiful animals to get noticed.
Push in Congress like Laura says. Don’t let up! And have a “playday” at the Board meeting with your toys, showing the world a roundup is never a playday for wild horses and burros.

Laura – is there anyway to get copies of these videos to the major Phoenix news stations (Channel 3, 5, 10, & 12) like the 9th of March so they could run on 3/10-11 when the meeting is being held? Or that you could get an interview with them and explain what’s going on? I have friends coming from Nevada and California and our plan is to hold a candlelight vigil at a couple of the big TV stations on the evening of 3/10 and be very visible on 3/11 for the public meeting with posters, signs, etc. (and thanks to Rob, sticks and plastic bags! LOL Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help or get names and addresses for you to send stuff ahead or talk to them as I live about an hour away from Phoenix.

When was the last time you watched anyone flog horses to get them to enter a closed trailer with more horses than should fit into a trailer. He may say his elbow never broke huh? Have you ever watched a man drive a carriage? You don’t need to break your elbow with a carriage whip. When was the last time you watched anyone mistreat a horse? Did you watch it or did you SAY or DO something about it. Listen people – listen up!! You are watching animal cruelty (and the only law protecting those horses AGAIN is state law – and you worry about a meeting where you are all going to bitch about money, cattle, mining and grass. What grounds are you going to object when you fax to Congress. What did you see in these videos that would make YOU think the roundups should be stopped. It was not BLM out there – those were individuals performing a job that probably came within the scope of policy of BLM. As we have seen. You’d better think this through – no mob is going to put those horses back on the range or keep free the few that are left after years of observing this circus. There are no heroes in this game. Now would someone who was there please tell us exactly where this trap site was?

Is is possible to get the sounds of the round-ups–the helicopter and the screams of the horses? Play that at full volumn, too. Let everyone hear what the horses and the humane observers hear. Give them the full “experience”.

That trailer loading was unbelievably long and traumatizing, that little white horse in the front got trampled and came out again several times, they are physically hitting the horses with the whipsticks, the trailer is being banged into hard several times, horses are under extreme trauma and life threatening fear for way too long. If even one horse comes away from being loaded like that unscathed it would be a miracle. These men are cattle herders who know nothing about horses. Our government hires crooks who have no regard for the animals welfare whatsoever.
These horses are incredibly special and deserve to live their lives out peacefully on the public lands where they have survived for hundreds of years, where they dont harm or even cost anyone a penny, and where they have a legal right to be!
Thank you R.T. and Terry and Laura and others who are there for the horses. The distance is getting more ridiculous but the quality of the video is remarkable from that distance.
Anyone who cares, please plan on attending the Advisory Board Meeting in Phoenix, AZ, on March 10th and 11th!!

WHY do they stand in FRONT of the horses they are whipping into the trailer? Even non horse people know if you want an animal to go forward you should be behind it!
And of course whipping violently is extremely encouraging, and running around is THE best way to get the cooperation of a wild animal, especially if you want to get them
into the mouth of the trailer beast.

Always in my mind, the BLM “Secret Documents,” obtained under the FOIA by the Conquistador Program. The plans to eliminate the wild horses were formulated in 2008. It appears the BLM is certainly moving forward with the plans for @ 3 years, with some interference from advocates and certain members of Congress. Euthanasia was paramount. Also, contraceptives of the mares. When a question arose if this all would alter the wild horse behavior, a BLM Advisory person said, “Do we care?” *And I wonder why these “Secret Document” plans, which ARE being carried out, are not brought up more in contesting the BLM’s devastation to the wild horses? For Terry, Laura, Elrick or myself to rant would do the horses no favors. It is too late for them, today, and to condone any confrontation would damage our ability to document, witness and be here for the horses.
But there are powers up the food chain that could and should affect change. We need to call our Senators to back Congressman Burton’s bill, we need to keep hammering at that Obama White House line and we truly should be a united voice at the BLM meeting in Phoenix next month. Sane, focused and direct communication with our elected officials should be applied for if the choose to continue to ignore our call…they are gone!

R.T. I have stated before my full realization that my style of confrontation on the scene would be counter productive so please don’t misinterpret my comments or be concerned about this aspect. I am not advocating that type of action by myself or anyone else because I know how the people that are running this operation think and they would use something like that to completely shut you all out. It would not stop what they are doing and planning to do to.
I have said all along that the only way to get them stopped is by Congressional and Senate action that cuts them right off at the pockets and a direct order to cease and desist all equine operations pending results of complete, independent investigations. You are may be right, if they choose to continue to ignore us they will be gone …. maybe …. voters have short memories or none at all but one thing for sure, horses living in the wild WILL be gone …. perhaps forever!

Where is the trap site? Which county? Why do you waste time here – no drama. Let us sideliners take care of small time business while you record the misery. Damn! You are there – it is a gift – tell us which county you are in. No one is advocating you run down there and hold the arm of the man whipping the horses. Heard another horse died 2/18 too. I’m losing my mind with this hysteria. I’ve never stood by – no matter the reason – and watched an animal suffer cruelty. I don’t understand the secret plan. I don’t.

I also want to thank those of you who are out there every day. I have talked until I am blue and people have no idea what is going on out there with the horses and burros. They are in shock at what I tell them, we need the masses to get informed and get on the side of the wild ones. I remember a while back watching a blm documentary called- the wild horses redemption- about prison inmates that train wild horses for adoption, at the end one horse was deemed non adoptable and the program ended with the blm stating that he would be put in long term holding and spend the rest of his life (my words- in meadows with grass to his knees and mountain streams for the remainder of his days). And I have watched the Cloud series on pbs many times over the years, and always believed the wild ones were in the wild living free and happy, why at the end isn’t there a part where they inform people that that is not the case for the wild horse, there are no meadows with knee high grass and mountain streams but the reality for the mustang is dirty, filthy, over crowded pens with little food and water were they stand around waiting to die or even worse are shipped to slaughter houses behind our backs. More than just horse people CARE and need to be informed, even they understand that these are their heritage and that the land is theirs. I watch these videos cant’t you hire a small plane to fly over (high enough) so you can get direct over head pictures and still be safe for all concerned? The pictures are fine for the courts but we need to find out where these horses are going? After all if the government came on MYproperty and took MY animals away there has to be some law on my side-I just don’t understand

If the dates of these stampedes are posted for the public, can we get a local HSUS/ASPCA/IDA officer to go out there on a day?? Hire him/her for the day? Show them a few hours of video before a “gather” took place in their jurisdiction.? How do we “round up” the hired wranglers? They are not BLMers. If a few were “taken off” the job, the word would get out that working for BLM was a bad deal. Just “action” thoughts. I’m pretty angry……….
