These Snow Horses will Make You Ashamed of your Childhood Snowmen

Chinese Artists Do Great Job with Snow Sculpture

Workers shape a snow sculpture prior to the annual Vasaloppet China Ski Festival at Jingyuetan Park in Changchun

Color me impressed; being one that cannot even draw stick-men I am in awe over this photo gleaned from the internet this afternoon.  Felt it would be a good thing to share on a “Feel Good Sunday”.

This photo has gone viral and is making it’s way around the internet with attached information that alledges the artists were competing in a December snow sculpture contest in North East China.  If so, I have two questions that come to mind;

1.) Did they win?

2.) Is it still there.

If anyone can supply the info to the questions, above, please leave them in the comment section, below, because inquiring minds have a serious need to know.

My ears get numb just looking at that picture…brrrrrrrr!

  1. Re: question #1:
    I’d certainly Hope so!? If THESE are the “losers”, my mind would EXPLODE to see the “better 1s” !
    #2: when does it become “warm” enough to Melt anything there…June?
    #3 IF they can make These, for FREE ~
    why can’t they make toys with0Ut lead paint? Or pet food with n0 poisons? ((just sayin’….seems an awful lot of “underutilized Talent” there. )) ~’:}

  2. I love the simplicity of the crafting—just snow and artistry—no lights, colorant, etc, which humans are so inclined to do! These have such energy and fire!

  3. And please tell me a steer or cow can be this impressive…..and I like cattle, but they ain’t equines.

    I guess that’s why we don’t use bovines for racing, jumping or just pure beauty of venue. (NO bashing cows, just recognizing what equines have been, are and can be…and it ain’t meat).

    CNN is now running crawls about the horsemeat scandal in Europe.

They are gifted by Nature , to be the Balance…………………..Nature so loves them as we do ,to give to them all the resources,and tools to survive , I will not ever stop in the quest for their ultimate freedom to roam, and be protected …………from all harm !!!!! When will it be realized their importance, to wildlife , the Land and to us…………….What hasnt yet been said ??????? in their Honor ???????? They were made in such Beauty so as not to be mistaken for any thing but NEEDED , they have saved many lives given so much it cannot even be measured……………on any scale…………… I am humbled in their presence…………………

  6. Don’t they just look like Wild Horses–running free,tails high,nostrils flared ! It does make one feel good. That’s what horses do–they make humans feel good. What a gift they are to us. What can we “gift” them in return? Let me count the ways we could thank them for simply “being”……
