Animal advocates are looking to protect wild horses on North Carolina’s Outer Banks by creating a unique volunteer opportunity…
Several animal and environment groups will hire a volunteer to show the horses off to visitors, but also educate the public by explaining the proper wild horse etiquette.
The volunteer they choose will work a few times a month, walk the beaches and tell guests about the wild horses. They will also receive training in the history of the horses and safety.
Officials said candidates for the position must be at least 18 years old.
