Our horses have been willing warriors in many wars started by men. In the first world war, about 1.5 million horses were used as cavalry, and an estimated 500,000 died.
Although recent polls indicate that a vast majority of Americans are opposed to the slaughtering of U.S. horses for human consumption, a small minority of individuals have launched a backdoor misinformation campaign designed to re-open US horse slaughter facilities and in the worst case scenario factory farm horses for food.

TRENTON — Horse slaughter is one step closer to being illegal in New Jersey.
A bill designed to prohibit the sale of horses for human consumption passed in the state General Assembly on Thursday with a vote of 72-3 in favor.
The bill specifies in prohibiting horse meat for human consumption.

Duquette, along with his partner in horse butchering Sue Wallis, is hell bent on acquiring attention and grasping a spotlight, or even a flashlight, with no regard to whether the attention is positive or negative. “CBS This Morning” highlighted the alleged “plight” of a rural New Mexico slaughterhouse owner who wants to capitalize on butchering companion horses while ignoring and sweeping under the carpet outstanding the USDA suspension of inspectors for cruelty violations.
Sending a strong message that New Jersey does not eat horse meat, the General Assembly approved bipartisan legislation that would ban the slaughter or sale of horses for human consumption.
