until the January jury term in Morrill County District Court. Three Strikes Ranch owner Jason Meduna is charged with 149 Class IV felony counts of cruel neglect of an animal regarding the malnourishment and death of horses and burros this past April. Meduna entered a not guilty plea July 14th.

Meduna’s attorney John S. Berry of Lincoln had filed a motion for a continuance in order to have more time to prepare. The motion was granted by Judge Randy Lippstreu during a pre-trial conference Tuesday in Bridgeport. If convicted Meduna could receive up to 5 years in prison, up to a $10,000 fine or both for each felony.

Meduna remains free on bond.

  1. This guy deserves the maximum penalty allowed by law. He should NEVER be allowed to own another animal EVER. And if it were up to me, he’d get a huge brand across his face “ANIMAL TORTURER”

  2. The only way I can look at the little one lying still in the dirt, never to get up again on earth, is to know in my horse-loving heart that he is prancing around in heaven with his fellow wild and free friends. May the heartlessness that caused this scene be replaced by the Love that’s pre-installed in all created beings but latent and unused in some.

  3. This picture breaks my heart and this is just one of how many that died the same way? This man should never be allowed to own another animal as long as he lives. Everyone should help keep an eye on him when he is free to do what he wants (he will be free again) Everyone who is aware of this situation needs to let this dirt bag know he is being watch and all eyes are on him..
