Nestled quietly away in our Wildwood community is a loving family who successfully raised their children into adulthood, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with gusto and strive for perfection at every turn. As luck, or great parenting, would have it, they did!
Proud Parents on Opening Night
Since its opening on Broadway on April 11th, Terry and I have been tracking the dynamic and successful launch of a play with lyrics and score written by Johnathon Clay, son of Mark and Dawn O’Neal, and his longtime Magnolia sidekick Zach Chance, comprising “Jamestown Revival.”
We have kept quiet as we did not want to attract any unwanted attention to them, but the top has been blown off the box office, literally.
“THE OUTSIDERS“, now nominated for 12 Tony Awards, is “The Best New Musical of the Season” (New York Post). With “brilliant staging” (Entertainment Weekly), “tuneful and soul-baring” music (New York Stage Review), and “high-octane choreography” (New York Magazine), it’s a story of friendship, family, belonging, and the realization that there is still “lots of good in the world.”
This is huge, and we know that Dawn and Mark are incredibly proud parents. We are excited for them and for their son’s great and shining victory.
The Tony Awards are next Sunday, and you can stream the event live. Links will follow, but many congrats to our quiet and deserving neighbors who are harboring a whole boatload of talent, love, and creativity. We love you guys.
