Feel Good Sunday: Chapter 1 – Living with Four-Legged Children

“Behind the scenes, here at Straight from the Horse’s Heart, are several volunteers who write while others scourer the internet in search of equine related news and articles that will not only be entertaining but of value to our horsey readership. One such individual, Geraldine Bray, works seven days a week with no compensation in an effort to get the news about horses, burros, buffalo, whales, wolves, grizzles, dolphins and any other wild being that is downtrodden by humans out and in front of our readers so that they can have the information needed to make a difference when discussing such topics with family, friends and legislators. Likewise, Chief News Correspondent, Geri, endeavors to locate at least one story a week that might bemuse and uplift our audience as a Feel Good Sunday (FGS) installation so that we can wash our hearts and souls out for one day a week before we wade back into the fray on Monday. This week, I am kindly going to ask Geri to take the day off as I have found the fodder for FGS right within arm’s reach in our own backyard with our wild and wacky four legged charges who never cease to either entertain or amaze me.” ~ R.T.

Feel Good Sunday: A Horse Gains a Voice, via a Rubber Chicken

“Okay, we abandon intelligence and advocacy for total hilarity, today. Before you click the video, below, be sure you are sitting down and swallow that mouthful of coffee or otherwise your going to have a mess on your hands, wherever you may be. Now tell me that this little equine, once he discovered he had a surrogate voice, didn’t have a lot to say. So much so that he decided that would take a stroll and tell his story to others. (Our neighbor’s horses would freak if we gave my rubber chicken to one of our guys)

As I type there is a rubber chicken on display above my desk; I know not to touch it as the little border collie sleeping at my feet would come uncorked along with my other buddy, Tank the 25lb cat and the morning would quickly deteriorate into a flurry of fur, claws and paws. So instead, I quietly submit this video to you and wish all of you a wonderful, relaxing and uneventful Feel Good Sunday. Keep the faith, my friends.” ~ R.T.

Feel Good Sunday: Horse Health – Toolbox for Making Your Horse or Donkey Feel Good Everyday

“This feel good Sunday is a small departure from what we normally on this day every week. Historically we attempt to consistently come up with some sort of information, news, article or video to make you, the reader, feel a little better and to give you a break from the worries of the week. Instead, on this Feel Good Sunday we are attempting to give you a file drawer full of information to make your equine companion feel good each and everyday so that as end result, you BOTH feel good.

Many thanks to our volunteer Geraldine Bray for compiling this extensive list of online information for your review and perusal. We have many kind folks who contribute posts, here, such as Debbie Coffey, Carol Walker, Grandma Gregg, Louie C, Lisa Leblanc, Vicki Tobin and many others including all of the readers who contribute through commenting, but as of late Geraldine has been sweating over the keyboard and researching articles that she believes will bring value to our readership and aide in keeping everyone informed of the issues facing our American equines be they domestic or wild.

Feel free to bookmark this page for later reference as we do not plan on removing nor moving it.

It is my most sincere wish that this effort, today, brings you value and helps make your life with your equine companions more enjoyable, healthy and rewarding. But above all, don’t forget to give your four legged friends a big hug, today. Life is short and they bring so much joy to each and every day…never forget that. Thanks Geri and keep the faith, my friends.” ~ R.T.
