NV Congresswoman Speaks Out on Obama BLM Animal Cruelty at Wild Horse Stampede

The disturbing images of the roundup going on in eastern Nevada have upset many. We showed Nevada Congresswoman Shelley Berkley the video and she was appalled by the pilots behavior. Shelly Berkley–“I was troubled by images from the recent wild horse roundup. The Bureau of Land Management must ensure that all rules are followed during any roundup. Those who are hired to perform wild horse roundups must obey these rules and if they fail to do so, appropriate steps should be taken.”

Obama Administration Refuses to Raise Paltry Fee for Destructive Cattle Grazing on 258 Million Acres of Public Land

Public lands grazing (which produces about 3% of the beef consumed in the US) equates to around a net loss of $123 million annually to American taxpayers and the livestock do upwards of 500 million to 1 billion in estimated damages annually. Congressman Dan Burton Speaks Out Against Obama’s Mismanagement of Wild Horses

“Mr. Speaker, last week, at the request of a lady named Madeline Pickens, I met with Mr. Bob Abbey, who is the head of the Bureau of Land Management, to talk to him about dealing with the wild horses, the mustangs that roam out west in the western States. The Bureau of Land Management has somewhere between 35,000 and 40,000 of these mustangs in pens around the country; and the cost of this is estimated to be as much as $2,500 per horse per year. The Bureau of Land Management just last week started rounding up another 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 of them to take them to holding pens and move them to Oklahoma.

DOI/BLM Dupe Public and Congress in Covert Wild Horse Land Grab Scheme

During a Grass Roots Horse research project looking into the FY2011 Budget for the Department of Interior which oversees the Bureau of Land Management, the agency entrusted with the management and protection of America’s wild horses and burros, it was discovered that the Interior has received 445.4 million dollars which is an increase of 106 million dollars for federal land acquisition through the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
