“Slaughterhouse” Sue Wallis Puts Wild Horses on the Menu

As the equine advocates and the BLM struggled to understand each other’s viewpoints the whining drone from the bloody misfit could be heard speaking out of turn. The facilitators and BLM committee members were patient and tolerant but you couldn’t help but see them whispering amongst themselves and taking notes as “Slaughterhouse” and her only associate Dave “WhatsHisName” (did I hear someone say “DOINK”?) continually were shut down and told to sit down and wait until their appropriate turns. Either their personal hygiene was lacking with massive ear wax build-ups or they are truly so thick skulled that they just don’t get it. They were the scourge of the gathering by demonstrating that between the two of them they didn’t have the courtesy or the common decency of a gnat.

The BLM Distorts Truth but the Facts Speak: The Calico Herd is GONE

How does one express what is going on. It is a scientific fact that the wild horses are a benefit to the range land and its biodiversity based upon there physiological makeup, grazing habits, and over all free roaming behavior. It is just as much a scientific fact the detrimental effects of cattle on the range land and its water sources, yet the BLM have raped the land of its horses and continue to increase cattle grazing in the area, at the taxpayers expense, all under the guise of establishing appropriate management levels of wild horses. Yet nature has been establishing what are considered appropriate management levels of all forms of wildlife including the wild horses for thousands of years, based upon environmental and predatory conditions, and doing an excellent job of it. Yes, there are continual fluctuations of numbers of varying species but all in ecological balance based upon natures mandate.

BLM Error or the Right Move?

Now I don’t want to muddy the waters or go off into left field but in an effort to be fair and balanced it appears, at least at first glance, that the BLM is in the process of doing a good thing for the wild horses in the Pryor Mountains.

Americans Call for Urgent Reform in Department of Interior’s Wild Horse and Burro Program

Washington, D.C. (May 28, 2010)— Currently being questioned by the House Committee on Natural Resources regarding the Deepwater Horizon disaster, Department of the Interior (DOI) Secretary Ken Salazar has come under fire for his lack of oversight on offshore drilling. Wild horse advocates contend that the mismanagement extends not just to an unparalled ecological disaster at sea, but a humane, environmental and fiscal disaster on our public lands. Wild horses and burros are being rounded up off their legally designated homes on Western ranges while extractive industries are allowed to monopolize public lands at enormous expense to the American taxpayer and the environment.

Push to Save America’s Wild Horses Continues after Judge Dismisses Case on Technicality

Washington, D.C. (May 25, 2010)— Solely on the basis of standing and mootness the lawsuit brought against the Department of Interior (DOI) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) by In Defense of Animals (IDA), wildlife ecologist and Cloud Foundation Board Member Craig Downer and author Terri Farley was dismissed by the Honorable Judge Paul L. Friedman of the U.S. District Court in Washington D.C. on May 24th. The Cloud Foundation continues to call for the return to the wild of the beleaguered Calico horses now in holding pens. To date at least 90 horses have died, 40 or more mares had spontaneous late term abortions due to stress and an unknown number of young foals have died in the privately-owned feedlot-style pens in Fallon, Nevada where the majority of the captured horses are held without windbreaks, shade or cover.
