Climb up in the Saddle, this Trip won’t Cost you a Dime
We have been pretty busy writing and trying to stay ahead of the latest trends in both Wild Horse and Slaughter Advocacy, so today we thought that we would take you on a tour of other places, where our good friends are equally hard at work doing just the same thing.
Our first stop is at “Tuesday’s Horse” where Vivian Grant, founder and President of the International Fund for Horses not only was kind enough to post our feature of yesterday but she also opened up her heart and shared a similar experience when she first investigated the predatory business of horse slaughter, first hand. A touching read, HERE
Next up is our good friend, Maureen Harmonay who has done an excellent job of keeping us abreast of the happenings at the Fallon Holding Facility for the captured and woeful remains of the Calico Herd. Her latest story is HERE
Another good friend and fellow advocate is well known artist, Laura Leigh. Laura has been an eyewitness to the tragedy of the Calico Roundup and continues to follow what is happening while the horses are being held as prisoners. Laura has an update to the surprising and misguided gelding operation HERE
Next in line is the woman who at both the Pryor Mountain and the Calico Roundups was the official “Humane Observer” for the horses and recognized by the BLM. Elyse Gardner has become so dedicated to the plight of our wild ones that it has become a full time job for her, less the pay and benefits. Elyse’s latest article is located HERE (be sure to check out Craig Downer’s latest reports while visiting Elyse, too.
And as we round one of the final bends in the trail we come upon our good friends and chief motivators, the folks from the Cloud Foundation. On a daily basis Ginger, Makendra, Ann and others keep us informed, plugged in and focused on the very latest related to the trials that our wild horses are suffering through during these troubling times. Please stop by and visit their blog HERE
That’s about as far as I can go today, time is short and we didn’t get to everyone that we wanted to, but there will be more wet saddle blankets in the near future. I don’t know about you but I am a tad tuckered out and think that I will mix up a nice big, industrial sized, world famous, R.T. Fitch Special “Wrangler” Iced Tea…ahhh, sounds good, and if you whisper in my ear, I might even tell you the recipie.
Keep the faith, my friends, be safe and may the Force of the Horse© be with you.
R.T.
