R.T. Fitch’s life has been anything but ordinary. Straight out of high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force Band during the Vietnam era, and while stationed in Hawaii, he spent weekends at Sea Life Park training penguins, sea lions, and whales. His path through life has taken many unexpected turns—including more than a few lessons in love—until meeting his wife, Terry, brought a lasting partnership and a shared passion for animals.
Over the course of his adult career, R.T. worked internationally in multiple countries, gaining a broad, global perspective that colors both his worldview and his writing. Now rooted in Texas, he and Terry live on a small farm surrounded by four-legged companions with paws, claws, and hooves. Together, they have devoted years to equine rescue and wild horse protection.
An ordained volunteer chaplain and professional Santa Claus for a local historical society—with Terry by his side as Mrs. Claus—R.T. brings warmth, wisdom, and joy to every season. His work reflects a life of service, wonder, and connection to both people and animals.
He is the author of Straight from the Horse’s Heart, a moving collection of true rescue stories and spiritual reflections, and Fangs of Light, a supernatural tale steeped in symbolic and metaphorical storytelling. The first in a planned trilogy, Fangs of Light blends myth and mystery to explore themes of identity, redemption, and the power of empathy—offering readers not only suspense and intrigue but a deeper look at the light and shadow within us all.
Well they tried their best didn’t they? They had hoped that they could find ways to convince the American public that horse meat is delicious and won’t give you cancer at all, and they had hoped to convince the media that they are doing it because they love horses so much, and they had hoped that Mr. Bob Abbey would say sure, good idea.
As it turns out, the attendance at the “Summit of the Horse” now going on at a Las Vegas casino, is, as one commentator described, “sparse” with merely dozens of people present instead of the hundreds expected by organizer Wy. State Rep. Sue Wallis.
Wallis had hoped to use the “Summit” as a platform to call for the return of commercial horse slaughter to the U.S. which would, in turn, aid her in her personal plans to operate a horse slaughter facility in Wyoming.
Today, during the afternoon session of the much beleaguered pro-horse slaughter summit in Las Vegas a free-lance reporter and benign horse trainer was strong armed out of the conference room by the Bloodfest’s lead supporter, Wyoming State Representative Sue Wallis, currently under investigation for fraud and ethics charges.

Their message that Eating horses is Helping Horses has not only fallen on its perverted face but it has brought their entire bloody and distorted message before the public in a very profound and informative way.
After months of hype and frantic email promotion fewer than 200 traveled to snowy Las Vegas the first Monday in January to talk about saving the horse industry by reigniting the contentious issue of horse processing likely for human consumption in foreign markets.
Late this morning, Pacific Time, Las Vegas News teams from NBC, ABC, CBS and more crowded into a small room to hear the sane rebuttal against the contravesiol “Summit of the Horse” being held in Las Vegas early this week. Sickened by the distorted number and incorrect facts equine advocates, representing all walks of life, traveled to this gambling town to ensure that the people of Las Vegas got the “other side of the story” and not just the cheap and discredited retoric from self-appointed horse slaughter experts representing the cattle industry.

un-packed room of a several dozen people. Empty chairs were the
theme of the evening as Wallis and Duquette stumbled through
introductions of non-present people while waiting for their much
heralded master of ceremonies Trent Loos, known for cattle rustling
and stalking, to appear out of LaLa Land.
HOUSTON, (Horseback) – Officials of the federal Bureau of Land Management have become increasingly sensitive to the media’s frequent use of a common English word. Horseback Online and many other news sites have used the word “stampede” to describe what BLM bureaucrats in Washington routinely describe as a “gather.”
