March 30, 2010 was the day that Tony Meyers was scheduled to stand trial in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana for animal cruelty charges where he inflicted grievous harm to a mare, three years ago. He pleaded guilty as charged the day before, after jury selection.
Houston – (SFTHH) – On the 23rd of February 2010 Jason Meduna was sentenced on 145 counts of felony animal cruelty charges and placed behind bars. One week later, six of the survivors from the 3-Strikes killing fields were finally placed in their forever homes at the ranch of country music icon Willie Nelson.

Jason Meduna is sleeping in jail tonight. Almost a year ago his crimes were discovered – dead horses stacked on top of one another, hidden from view in the sandhills of Nebraska.
From across the bridge and through the fog of death the screams and cries of the starved horses were heard; heard loud and clear. Jason Meduna was found guilty. A horse murder was brought to justice. Strike one up for the horses, or 145 up as that is the number of felony animal cruelty counts that Meduna was found guilty of, 145 out of 149, the horses were clearly heard.
I’ve been gone for several weeks, on the road, doing human things and attempting to meet the demands of others’ needs. In traveling about we are surrounded and assailed by all that is human; the machines, the noise, the people and the unnatural mechanical noise that gnaws at the brain just underneath your consciousness.

HOUSTON (SFHH) – It’s not very often that out there amongst all the troubled waters of bad news a small blurb of good news and triumph bobs about and is visible to those who are searching for it. There was just such a little victory that rose to the surface, last week. Long awaited justice was served and a very, bad man was found guilty and would be held accountable to pay the price; that man is Jason Maduna.
