REP. JAMES VIEBROCK BURIED HIS PRO-HORSE SLAUGHTER BILL in S.B. 795 which means there is unlikely to be a public hearing on the bill in the Senate. He now does not have to answer to the public for his bill promoting horse slaughter.

ELKO — The U.S. Bureau of Land Management Elko District’s Tuscarora Field Office has released an environmental assessment on its plans to remove about 1,000 horses from the Owyhee, Rock Creek and Little Humboldt herd management areas.

The city of Hardin unanimously passed Ordinance No. 2010-01 that amends the current zoning ordinance to prohibit the slaughter of more than 25 animals in a seven day period. The action effectively bars the building of a slaughter plant in Hardin.
