The Night Wild Horses Came to Manhattan

As near as anyone today can tell, America’s wild horse herds never came anwhere close to Manhattan before they were either slaughtered or confined to dusty rangelands out West. And it is hard to imagine a venue more different from those rangelands than brick-lined Vanderbilt Hall, at the New York University School of Law, where on a rainy Wednesday night a group of 50 or so wild horse enthusiasts met to discuss the past, present and future of the mustang, whom author Deanne Stillman calls “North America’s gift to the world.”

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (November 11, 2011) – The Cloud Foundation (TCF) has received a report from wild horse advocate, Lisa Friday, regarding the conditions of two Bureau of Land Management (BLM) wild horse holding facilities in Utah. BLM Fine Tunes Assault Plans Against Cloud’s Herd in 2012

Only one good comment can be made; the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is not planning to use cruel helicopters to wage another attack against Cloud’s herd next year, in fact, they really are not sure what they are going to use, yet. But one thing is for certain, they are once again going to wage war against the Pryor Mountain herd in Montana using figures and science that flies in the face of their own consultants as indicated in their newly released scoping document for the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range (PMWHR)

Another Study Verifies Wild Horses in North America Eons Ago

The genetic history of six large herbivores — the woolly rhinoceros, woolly mammoth, wild horse, reindeer, bison, and musk ox — has shown that both climate change and humans were responsible for the extinction or near extinction of large mammal populations within the last 10,000 years. The study, which is the first to use genetic, archeological, and climatic data together to infer the population history of large-bodied Ice Age mammals, will be published in the journal Nature.

Paroled Wild Mustang Murderer Taking Act to Wyoming

Last Wednesday, Jason Meduna, convicted of 145 counts of felony animal cruelty carrying a sentence of 5-10 years in January of 2010 was covertly granted parole by the state of Nebraska while they negotiated with Wyoming to allow the felon to reside in their state upon his release. The official parole board statement referred to Meduna’s parole as “pending” while they attempted to rid themselves of the controversial wild horse and burro murderer at their very first opportunity and to add injury to insult, they are going to attempt to dump their trash just across their state line so that the smell does not carry back to their precious board room. Sorry boys and girls, he ain’t gonna be all that far away.
