Elyse Gardner Gives Update on Conditions at Fallon Feed Lot
In our quest to rid our country and our world of the disregard and disrespect shown to our equine companions it is important that we work together as a team, a unified force that speaks amongst itself and functions as if one. We, as advocates, should be concerned not only about the public image that we project but also how we interact and treat one another.
I view my position, here on this blog, as a paperboy versus an innovator, i.e. it’s my job to get the news out, to ensure that the message is being transmitted in hopes that someone far smarter than myself picks up the ball and makes a touchdown for the horses…with that said, I would like to point you in the direction of Elyse Gardner’s “Humane Observer” blog as she has some timely information to share about her visit to Fallon this past weekend.
Pass the word, keep the faith as the Force of the Horse is with You…(you only have to listen). – R.T.

Dear Lord,…..why can’t they just leave them alone?

We can’t just leave them alone. BUT, we as a Nation can certainly do much better than this.
Manage? Yes! But this isn’t management. This is extermination at the highest level of taxpayer funded incompetence.
The Feds just plain stink at just about everything. The wild ones, immigration, financial and food regulation/enforcement are just a few that prove my point.

I would like to pick them up and carry all of them all to safety. This reminds me of the times when people are being attacked on the street, and people stand around and watch, except for the courageous. We scream for help for them from the White House, and no one hears us.

anyway the humane observer blog can have a non-registered user comment section? perhaps there would be more comments from blm workers if the comments were easier to place.
please note the BLM/DOI has placed several NEW 2 day old now, youtube vids cannel including this calico round-up-search” BLM horse” sort by DATE to find their new youtube channel.
Thank you for caring for the wild horses. It is SAD to see the BLM ‘management’ conditions.
No wonder they hate having the public view them and never put up 24/7 public webcams.
Is there any way we can get the BLM to offer to rescues ANY wild horses they plan to shoot soon as they round them up? The older thin mare Belle the BLM shot right after calico round-up haunts me. She was in much better condition than the majority of abuse cases nursed to good health. Now this colt with a bad back leg sits in a BLM sandpit with NO CARE and he’s suffering! We need a way to get these horses care BEFORE the BLM lets them slowly die or shoots them.
I doubt the BLM will get better with their animal care/management, they have stayed the same for 40 years.

My main point, in regards to how we treat each other, is that we surely have to take the “I” out of how “we” do things.
None of this is about us, it’s all about the horses.
So if I refer people to other blogs, personalities and publications it is with the thought that the message needs to get out…this sure is NOT about Terry and myself and it most assuredly is NOT about making money, it’s about saving the horses, full stop!
Keep the faith

Thanks for asking the BLM to release any horses they are not going to place care into. Please keep asking them. I am so sure someone will step-up and take them if the blm would just allow this.
So heartbreaking to see beautiful pictures of wild horses and then to know they are all dead.

It sad looking at the horses that were stripped of their freedom, standing around depressed, heads hanging.
Re: our public image, I had read that Viebrock was stating he was getting threatening phone calls. Now that could or could not be true. I know it’s hard to hold yourself back but he’s stating that someone called and said that he should be strung up and have his throat slit. I just feel that when things like this are said (go ahead and think them) that we just give the opposition ammo and then they have an excuse not to take our calls or faxes.

Viebrock called EVERYONE against the slaughterhouse Nutcases. Sure he wants to paint everyone against animal abuse nutcases.
The issue inflames people! Some just cry, some write letters and call and try the legal channels.
Then some are quite nutty for whatever reason and the SHIT and lies Viebrock spews attracts the real nutcases like flies.
We are reasonable people yet very upset about Viebrock. We know it’s wrong to threaten others, however we can NOT be quiet just so the real nutcases stay back. It is HIS fault to attract the real nutcases, he’s the horse killer and tuff he needs to learn what its like when one does such a crime against everything moral.

This video is heart wrenching to watch, these poor horses, once proud, healthy and alert are mere shells of their former selves. I can hardly bear to watch it. That mare with the two foals has just torn my heart out with the sorrow I feel for them all!

Amidst the manure and the overcrowding, in an unnatural place for a wild horse, this buckskin mare had two foals. The Calico Twins. This is one in a million chances of happening. This is a little miracle that the world should see. may the future of these foals all be the best we can give them.
Friends, Respect all of those working toward preserving and protecting the wild herds. Even if you do disagree, do so and then get on with it. Those of you who add to division are working against the efforts of others. Those of you who have been accusing and judgmental without first asking the right questions are expecting to influence others despite your mistake? How do you justify researching wild horses and doing good work then slandering your compatriots you are jealous of?? This is getting to be an embarrassment. Some recent posts I have read smack of competition and jealousy, from people who have garnered respect for their past work. Who are you to judge when you have not asked those you are criticizing even one question? Why do you say one thing in public and another in private then court those you disdain for any information you can get? New people trying to maneuver through the information out there are coming on very confused and defensive as a result of all the undercurrents. It is like the self made ‘sides’ are lying in wait for converts and disciples. That is not what any of this is about. This is about the wild horses where ever they are, on the range, in processing, up for adoption and in the long term holding silence. Get over yourself, check your ego at the door and keep fighting. mar
There is nothing fair going on, but do advocates have to create a new atmosphere lacking respect and common decency because they do not like someone and if anyone speaks to that person they become the opposition??? Why are we questioning all this now?? Have we not been in this for a long enough time to know we all want the same thing?? If this is not the case then you are in the wrong campaign.

Elyse has certainly set a shining example for us. Such tireless work. And I know it is hard to see these things. But people are beginning to notice. People who are not necessarily horse people. I pass on many of the items to my facebook page and its amazing the response
I hope the little twins survive. I thought I saw a second set, but maybe it was just a good Mom babysitting.
Love has to win out.
