Do You See the Image?

“It’s ‘Feel Good Sunday’ and as we do every weekend we attempt to bring something uplifting and/or positive in nature to cleanse the mind and refresh the soul before we head back onto the equine battlefield first thing Monday morning.  So today we bring you a positive story with an unusual twist for you to ponder and one family’s victory for you to enjoy.  Keep the faith.” ~ R.T.

FYFFE, Ala. (WHNT) – Do you see a hidden image in the picture above?  A woman in DeKalb County says the side of her horse shows a child and a praying man.

Trudy Lott mailed this photo to WHNT News 19 with the following message:

“This is a picture of a young child facing a man bending over in prayer that is on the side of my paint horse. I had never noticed it until after I brought my husband home from the hospital after having surgery for pancreatic cancer.  He was diagnosed in October of last year.  After surgery and a series of chemo he at this time is cancer free.  I truly believe God had a hand in this, don’t you?”

After passing the photo around to the WHNT News 19 newsroom staff Thursday it was clear Trudy was not the only one who saw the faces. We wanted to know more about the horse and his owners.

Trudy and Gary Lott have owned Bandit, the five-year-old paint horse, since he was born. In 2011, Gary was diagnosed with cancer in his stomach and pancreas. After months of treatment, Gary finally came home on Christmas Day. Trudy says she was looking for strength and asked God for a sign.

The next day, she was out in the barn feeding Bandit and the other horses when it hit her.

“It’s like looking at a painting — sometimes it just comes to you,” Trudy Lott said.

Since that day, Gary continues to heal. Trudy believes the sign on the side of her horse was a sign from God that everything was going to turn out well for their family.

“Everything is so bad in the world right now,” Trudy said.  “I thought it would be nice to let someone know there is good happening too.”

  1. A beautiful story and much needed. To recover from pancreatic cancer is very rare and perhaps a miracle. The image is easy to see and Bandit is gorgeous. Thanks, R.T.

  2. I saw the image immediately..amazing..Good news for Gary..glad to hear he is getting well. Heather..can’t be Dick..the nose isn’t long enough…LOL, But I see what you mean..

  3. For every horse, burro I see God…all God’s creatures to include humans, I can see the glory and mystery of a Superior being. The only ones that disappoint me are the humans…but not all.

Every living thing is a prayer in and of it’s self….I don’t need visual aids interpreted by humans.

But it is a sweet, good news story…thanks SFTHH.

  4. “The Lord works in mysterious ways.” A sign is sign is a sign and I say accept your messages every way you can, because they are real and beautiful (afterall, it IS on a horse) and calming and hopeful. I’m sending healing prayers right now! Can you feel them? You will.

  5. I tend to see God’s in all creatures and would be moved more by the horse’s eyes. But if the markings prevent her from ever selling this horse at auction, amen.

  6. Definetely God at work….I saw the images immediately….and since I don’t believe in mere coincidences, I do believe it is a sign for this family that everything is going to be O.K.. 🙂

    • I’ve always maintained, and I’m sure you and Jerry would agree; that horses are God’s most magnificent creation. Why else would Jesus ride a white horse in Revelations! They are also the bravest of animals. I’m quite sure they are instruments of healing, too.

  7. Such a feel good story – and we all certainly need one these days. The fact that it involves a horse just makes it more meaningful. Good luck & prayers to Gary & Trudy Lott. Sounds like someone is definitely looking over them.

  8. Beautiful picture and heartwarming story. May Gary continue to heal and regain his health back. I wish them both much health and happiness. Thanks for sharing R.T..

  9. Romans 15:19

    The Message (MSG)

17-21Looking back over what has been accomplished and what I have observed, I must say I am most pleased—in the context of Jesus, I’d even say proud, but only in that context. I have no interest in giving you a chatty account of my adventures, only the wondrously powerful and transformingly present words and deeds of Christ in me that triggered a believing response among the outsiders. In such ways I have trailblazed a preaching of the Message of Jesus all the way from Jerusalem far into northwestern Greece. This has all been pioneer work, bringing the Message only into those places where Jesus was not yet known and worshiped.

  10. There is a meaning in so many expressions of horses, and other kinds of living beings in our work. Our challenge then is to learn to perceive these messages, the meanings. In time all this will grow clearer as we advance. The freedom of life is one great beauty for its resolution is in the Most High!
