“The wild horses just can’t catch a break in the state of Wyoming, where they use footage of wild horses in an effort to attract tourists.
Last year the largest, viable herds were decimated by the out of control BLM and now the Governor of the state has also crawled into bed with the voting welfare ranchers and is attempting to placate them with support for the BLM and their efforts to remove every single last horse from their rightful range. It is cows versus horses and the wild ones don’t stand a chance.
Below, Mead speaks to the federally subsidized ranchers and you can almost smell the stink of politics through the printed text, it’s disgusting…but see for yourself and say a little prayer for the horses; some where, some how, some one is going to wake up and smell the roses but it sure isn’t these good ole boys, at least not today!!!” ~ R.T.

Wyoming Governor Matt Mead
CASPER, Wyoming — Wyoming will continue to challenge the federal government on wild horse management, Gov. Matt Mead told ranchers.
Speaking to ranchers Wednesday at the annual winter meeting of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, Mead said that he will continue litigation to pressure the U.S. Bureau of Land Managementv and Congress to consider alternatives for wild horse management.
Federal officials gathered more than 1,200 wild horses from the checkerboard lands of southwest Wyoming in September. The agency spends more than $80 million nationwide for wild horse management, and the BLM’s long-term holding facilities in Rock Springs are nearing capacity.
“They don’t have the resources needed to properly manage wild horses,” Mead said. “We have to make sure that the wild horses are appropriately managed, and we have to make sure the BLM has sufficient funding to do that.”

American Atrocity: The Wild Horse Round-Ups
by Capt. William E. Simpson
http://goodmenproject.com/featured-content/kt-american-atrocity-wild-horse-round-ups/
It is time for Americans to stand up for the relatively few remaining Wild Horses.
Bottom line, the Wild Horses are an easy target. OK, by now some readers might be thinking that I am an anti-rancher partisan when it comes to this issue, but that would be very far from the truth! In fact, I wrote an article several months ago where I stood firmly behind rancher Cliven Bundy’s position to uphold his Constitutional rights and his historical grazing rights. Nonetheless, this is whole different situation. And during my research for this article,
I found information that suggests that corruption and greed has found its way into the industry and even within the BLM. But of course, when the little guy (in this case, the Wild Horses) is getting the shaft, it’s usually by moneyed people with political power that is used to support unreasonable positions in order to further enrich the greedy.

Sure Wyoming is beautiful. But these beautiful horses need to be left alone to roam around and to be free. These horses don’t deserve to be treated like this. BLM needs to get there crap together and STOP capturing these innocent horses. Visitors come to see the wild horses and if they capture these horses then what does Wyoming have. Shame on you Wyoming. Wyoming people if you really love these wild horses then be their voices. Speak up for them. Wild Horses have Just as much right as the cows have there. PLEASE STOP CAPTURING THESE BEAUTIFUL HORSES. .

I’m more concerned about a bill that makes it an offense to collect environmental research data on private land. That means the extraction industries can do whatever the hell they want with no watchdog. If you want too see horses disappear quickly, just let their water supplies be fouled with uranium and arsenic.

“Both snares wound tight around the dogs’ necks, killing both in front of the children.”
Three family dogs were recently killed by snare traps on our public land. This is another incident that shows how SOME Wyoming people feel about animals on our public lands – it was supposedly “legal” – but does that make it justified? NO!
Having personally spent time walking on our public land, I dread the thought of what would happened to me or my daughter or grandchildren if any of us would have been snared? If three ~150 pound dogs died from being snared … I am horrified at the thought of what would have happened to any of us.
And since Wyoming, like many other areas of the country have a motto of “Shoot, shovel, and shut up…” how many times does this killing happen and we hear nothing about it?
That land is public land and that land is my land and that wildlife is my wildlife. When will Americans wake up to the serious and often deadly assault on their land and resources?

Matt Mead is a scumbag. Why is the government failing to enforce the law? The Free Roaming Wild Horse and Burro Act is still in force and needs to acknowledged.
