When a horse repeatedly freed itself from its tether its puzzled owners decided to secretly film it.

And the resulting clip revealed the cheeky stallion as a veritable horsey Houdini, as it performed a remarkable feat of escapology.

The smarty pants equine is seen in its stable using its tether rope to manipulate the leather straps behind its ears.

The horse repeatedly bows its head to position the rope to scrape at the straps of its halter.

After only a few attempts its persistence pays off and the bridle tackle slips away leaving the liberated horse free to patrol the whole of its stable.
