Feel Good Sunday: Video-Mini Horses Say Goodbye to Winter

“Recently we ran a Mini Video on Feel Good Sunday and received many notes calling for another, so here you go folks.  Old Man Winter is only hours away from succumbing to Spring so it is only fit that the little equines who capture everyone’s heart have a final romp in the snow before the arrival of fresh green grass, flowers and foals.  Have a great and wonderful day where ever you are and never give up on the good fight.  Keep the faith my friends.” ~ R.T.

  1. I have 2 of these little cuties. They keep me laughing. The’ve learned how to give a kiss without using their teeth. Now everyone wants a kiss from them. I adopted them when Bhavani was just 4 months old; and her mother Gracie was 3. I originally got them when my second horse, Stormy, had to be put down. My Rocky Mountain horse, Merlin, hates being alone; so the minis came the same day. We made a small paddock in the large one so they could get used to each other. On the 3rd day Merlin let them out. I looked out the window and there they were. All three of them running around and frolicking. The love affair continues. We had 3.5 ft of snow which came just above the mini’s chests. Wondering how they were going to get into the paddock, I watched from the window and there was Merlin pushing Bhavani through the snow to make a path. Mr. Big Shot, Merlin, did not want to get his legs wet. LOL I just wanted to share this for the “Feel Good Sunday”. Just a note, Minis are really horses; so treating them like anything else will definitely make training difficult. They are cute and snugly; but can also bite and throw a pretty good kick right in your shins. The same ground training that we use on regular size horses, needs to be used with Minis; or you will end up with 200-300 pounds of little monsters. Needless to say. I love my Minis.

  2. Who says they can’t be race horses!! That would be cool..unbridled, riderless race horses..just like the Piggie races, but with minis…all in fun though!! Good way to raise money for the horse rescues!!!

  3. So stinkin’ cute! :3 Miniature horse are so adorable!

I’m not sure if you take requests, but I found I video that you might want to share for a future Feel Good Sunday segment. I laughed so hard! X’D
