This is a wild family in Salt Wells Creek that has no idea what is going to happen to them.
Our guest tonight is Carol Walker, Dir. of Field Documentation for Wild Horse Freedom Federation. Carol has been at the Bureau of Land Management’s roundups of wild horses in the Checkerboard area of Wyoming. This roundup will result in the devastation of the three largest remaining herds in Wyoming.
Carol has an important update for the public. The BLM is not giving the public accurate numbers in reports.
Carol’s website is http://www.wildhoofbeats.com/ and you can see her photography of wild horses at http://www.livingimagescjw.com/

This may be a little off topic but the horses left behind in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey are being sent to auction.
One mare in particular was pictured across the internet as an example of extraordinary efforts of rescuers.
Unfortunately she was unclaimed by her owners and will now be sent to auction.
Kill buyers are certainly going to be at the auction .
The money that she brings as well as another horse not claimed will go to Bluebonnet Rescue.
Many of us horse lovers across this country would have more than willing to pay for these horses and give them a permanent home, instead the state of Texas was willing to take a chance that they would be bought by kill buyers and sent to Mexican slaugjter houses.

Twin Peaks wild horses show visibly lame horses, a downed mare and foals recently separated from their mothers – listen to the foals cry…

WHERE ARE ALL THE STUDS GOING? If you look at the online facility and adoption galleries, almost all the horses shown are mares, no studs, very few geldings. It would seem the foals are probably being killed immediately and the studs hauled away immediately (no processing, branding, or ID trail). If horses or foals are being killed immediately they have to be disposed of somewhere, at public expense, and probably on private lands. Recall here these are still publicly owned wild horses being pulled from public lands, at public expense, but the only ones who gain are private, for profit interests. They are cashing checks paid for by we, the people.
Only Congress has the power to make a difference now, please contact all your Congressional representatives and weigh in with your opinions, and do it before Oct. 8.

In years past our wild horses were sold to kill buyers directly from the range and never even arrived at a BLM holding facility. See the documents (white paper) that prove it happened at Murderer’s Creek Oregon.
