The Force of the Horse

New Year, Fresh Start, New You…I Don’t Think So!

by R.T. Fitch

Are you tired of being told that you are not good enough, you are not thin enough, your goals are not expansive enough, so you need to make a fresh start in the “New” Year?

I AM!

What does a number on a calendar have to do with self-esteem, awareness and love?

NUTTIN HONEY!

“Love” ~ by Terry Fitch

I am sick of the New Year and ‘New You’ mentality as I am not so very unsatisfied with the old me, except this old me is just a little more aware than he used to be.

Are these comments running contrary to my article last week on the Magical Red Suit; no, not at all.  In fact, this discussion and proclaimed awareness is BECAUSE of the Red Suit.

While wearing the Suit I learned that I really sort of liked the jovial nature it brought out in me, I reveled in the fact that I could make total strangers laugh and smile, I learned that it might take a bit of effort, but love towards others could really be tangible if you put just a teaspoon of energy behind it.

And most importantly, I learned that I was not as bad as I thought I was and perhaps a likeable soul after all.

Those revelations should belong to you, too.

You don’t need a fresh start on becoming a new you.

You surely don’t need to struggle to reinvent yourself just because there is a different symbol staring back at you from the calendar.

Furthermore, you are beautiful and perfect in your own right, no excuses required.

So instead of all this talk about New Year Resolutions, which historically fail in soul wrenching agony, simply wake up as the beautiful person that you already are and open your heart to share your inner wealth with those you meet and greet.

You are special, you can still grow but let’s junk the propaganda that demands you be ‘NEW’; ain’t having it.

Like a fine wine; you are gaining depth, a unique flavor which speaks clearly to those who seek you out.

Cheers.

  1. Right on RT! I’m working on a new book Living Outside Your Comfort Zone, and it’s about taking WHO you are now and recognizing you already have skills and strengths to move on!

  2. Thanks, RT – Being some older than you – I had already come to that conclusion! But its nice to hear it from someone else. I have come to believe that the current “atmosphere” of denigration towards anyone who doesnt look, sound or believe the exact same way the “denigrator” does, just might be responsible for many of our actual troubles. Not sure if its inferiority or superiority (mouthful) buts its quickly causing absolute devastation to this & other countries. So thanks, buddy you & I agree and are just fine as we are!
