Invitation to Attend the International Equine Conference

We hope you can join us for a three day jam packed event with our legislators, subject matter experts and knowledgeable horsemen and horsewomen.

It will be a great opportunity to share information and to ask questions of the people that have provided so much of the documentation that we use in our efforts on equine welfare and protection.

How YOU Can Help the Wild Horses and Burros

Today is Sunday and as all of you regular readers know we try to pull away from the bad and highlight the good. Likewise, my lovely bride rarely asks me to highlight a topic but from halfway around the world she is politely asking me to speak up on how everyone is so very precious and important to our ultimate mission to gain equitable justice for our national icons, the “federally protected” wild horses and burros.

I must say that I have been blessed with such an event as I was lucky enough to meet someone who is so special, so rare and so beautiful on so many different levels that it is difficult to put down into simple two dimensional text.

Mexico Equine Advocates Appeal Globally for Help

Chicago (EWA) –Equine Welfare organizations around the world are responding to an appeal by their Mexican counterparts requesting support in forcing an end to the blatant cruelty and abuse at the San Bernabe Slaughter Auction in the Municipality of Almoloya de Juárez.

A video appeal was released on July 3, revealing the common place abuse of equines heading to slaughter. In an incident that is said to be typical of the mistreatment, a pregnant mare with a broken foot was pushed off a ramp that resulted in her breaking both of her knees. In obvious agony, she was dragged off to slaughter.
