There are words that should be written about the courage of Cloud the wild mustang who performed like no other stallion in trying to save his band, but no time to write them.
Someone should share how he defied the helicopter blades and tried to run his herd back up the mountain but there is no time to speak.
A voice should be raised in respect for the stallion who would not enter the end of the trap and actually turned to face the pursuing helicopter, something never seen before, but the few who saw are themselves facing their own fears and dread.
Someone of authority should stop the rouge BLM from committing such atrocities, but they must be to busy to notice or care.
So all we have to offer, this day, are a brief series of pictures that show Cloud, the Wild Stallion of the Rockies, doing all of the above and more.
Our hearts beat louder for his intelligence and bravery.

This is an animal using its animal behavior the only way it knows to fight. I have heard about this video. I cannot watch it not that courageous.
It is pitiful. Cloud doesn’t know he’s the great Cloud. This reminds me of the Roman Colusseum with all these fascinated people watching him fight for his very life. Back off people. put your videos to better use. It is an outrage to post this.
WE needed to fight this fight for Cloud. He cannot do it.

People NEED to see this cold hard REALITY. We NEED a LOUDER VOICE. People need to see this before it will become “real” to them. Horrific things are being done to these, the most beautiful of wild souls. True…this IS an animal using animal behavior and Cloud knows not that HE is the Great Cloud and these horses only know how to be horses. This needs to be on the news…Maybe then our voices will be heard to return these horses.

The fact that such atrocities can occur in these enlightened times is unacceptable. Every government entity should answer to the people. Who do the BLM think they are?
People who have a vision of the future and truly care about animals should be in charge, not narrow-minded predators.

This is a prime example of the stupidity of some of our government agencies. I am so tired of the people of this country being ignored by huge government entities.
These are OUR horses, running free in OUR country. The BLM
(Bureau of Land Mismanagement) should be completely investigated and overhauled. The millions of cattle grazing on OUR land to make money for the ranchers should be moved onto private land. The public lands should be for the public and for the wild creatures that have lived there for hundreds of years.The thirty some thousand mustangs that are presently being held in BLM prison should be freed.

Tears? Heartbreak? I don’t want to hear it. Where’s your anger? Where’s your RAGE? Where’s your FURY?! Do Americans just sit back and watch and cry when a gang of terrorists destroy our heritage? Is this what we’ve become? Powerless to save something this meaningful and beautiful? Where are the officials we hired and voted for to protect our wild horses? Why aren’t we storming that G.D. BLM and demanding the release of OUR horses? They couldn’t put us ALL in jail!

The pain that you are suffering by simply looking at an image from miles away is NOTHING compared to what these animals are suffering. We HAVE to look at this, no matter how much pain it causes us. Just think what Cloud & these horses are going through…what free mustangs around the country have been going through for years. Our suffering can never, never compare to theirs. Please, watch. This is tragic. I am so sorry for all the wild horses everywhere being terrorized and taken from their homes.
I witnessed & photographed a similar round up in Idaho last month. Here is my account.
My heart breaks for the Pryor Mountain horses, and this is happening all over the west. The BLM are out of control and despite the protests, the petitions, the calls and the media attention, they are decimating our wild horses.
I will keep calling, writing, donating, fighting, but none of that seems to be helping our horses…
I’m so terribly sad right now. So sad.

To be as Brave as Cloud to turn and face the whirling blades that deny freedom! We need to be as strong and find a moral courage that balances Cloud’s outright courage. The someone to tell the story is ALL of us until we are heard as a defining roar that stops the BLM in its tracks! Cloud we have all heard and seen your defiance of the BLM it is now OUR turn!

They ran us off our land, stole our land and killed our families they called us savage. Now they are stealing our horses and preparing to take more land. Soon there will be nothing left and all for a little green peice of paper. Now you tell me who is a savage. This is the begining of the end and all for a dollar. I pray the beautiful mustangs will find happy homes and the rest live free but you all know a few might find good homes and the rest will suffer as we have when they ran us into traps like Pryor horses are now. All we ever wanted and all these horses ever wanted is to be left alone and free. This is not a FREE country any longer.

This is heartbreaking and really pisses me off. The BLM should be very ashamed of themselves!!!! I know there have been tons of petitions signed, phone calls made and letters written, so why wasn’t this stopped???
Who is making the final decision on rounding up these magnificent creatures and giving the BLM the power to do this?
I don’t know all the facts but I read that the roundup was postponed for a couple of days. Who gave the word to go ahead with it???? Whoever they are, they need to be held accountable for their actions, along with the BLM.

Wendy, according to latest post on thecloudfoundation.org , our hard fight has paid off, the roundup has been cancelled as of today, Cloud and most of his band are free.
However, BLM is keeping extras from Cloud’s band to make up the numbers.
BLM is intent on keeping the elders for adoption and sale.
So keep figthing, calling, writing, e-mailing –
Daily to the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources members and all your senators, Obama, Biden and Salazar – Any press you know, write editorials in your local newspapers (please don’t contact Grijalda, as he is working very hard and contacts take him away from his efforts):
Send S 1570 The Restore Our American Mustangs Act out of committee and on to the Senate floor, for approval, on to the President.
Get the elders, and possibly more of Clouds’s family, back on the range before Sept 25 day before auction/sale occurs.
If you can, donate to support an adoption/purchase – info. on the Foundation pages.
Remember, there are more round-ups scheduled in New Mexico and elsewhere, and over 600 already rounded up since mid July, some entire herds zeroed out, that can still be saved too if we can just the senate bill passed in time – they are all Cloud to me!

Leave what is left of our American treasures the wild mustangs, how quickly our goverment has forgotten what part these magenifasent horses have played in the history of our country, they deserve to be protected. It makes me very angry the way they are treated, leave them alone. THey gave there lives through out history to build this country doesn’t that mean anything to our politicians.
