Another Helicopter Wild Horse Stampede of Death Coming to a Desert Near YOU!

The BLM Blood Lust for the Wild American Horse

Remember the recent Calico round-up?

1.)     Incorrect Numbers

2.)    Warnings issued that horses would die

3.)    Notorious Helicopter Contractor in charge

4.)    Young horses run until their feet fell off

5.)    Healthy horses killed in the field

6.)    Gates closed so inappropriate gelding and sterilization experiments could be conducted

7.)    Animal cruelty charges filed

8.)    150 horses dead and still counting

9.)    No verification that any number of horses are left on the range

10.)   No accountability

Well warm up the BBQ pit and break out the beer because the ole BLM is about to fire off a rerun of the death and destruction and hundreds of native wild horses are now doomed.  Gotta love that BLM, they just issued a statement that they know helicopters kill wild horses and what do they plan on using to round up the horses?  The same helicopter contractor that is responsible for running horses to death at the last roundup.  Craig Downer just verified that destructive private cattle out number the wild horses by a minimum of 10 to 1 at the proposed roundup location so what is the helicopter going to stampede; the wild horses, of course.  Kinda makes ya wonder about those boys, doesn’t it?

We all know that the BLM can’t count, they have proven that with their bogus numbers both before and after their botched roundups.  We all know that they lie and actually hire professionals to teach them how to do so with style.  Hell, look at their last advisory meeting; slick, cool and preaching transparency while they are castrating and killing off the last seed of the Calico herd.

There is no mysterious drought coming to take away the forage, only the environment destroying welfare cattle that are allowed to ruin our public lands.  There is written and binding Federal Law to prevent the BLM from doing just what they are poised to do again.  So why are they doing it?  Why is it so blasted imperative to strip the public lands of their native wild horses?  What’s the deal?

The deal is that there is something very dark and subversive stalking our public lands and the wild horses are in the way.  The BLM has always been riddled with greed, corruption and deceit; nothing has changed they have only gotten better at it.  There are major players at work just under the surface that pull the strings so as to steal the wealth and natural beauty of our public lands and the BLM is the Pimp that decides who gets the first shot at the virgin soil.  The rapists are waiting in the wings and whispering to Abbey and Salazar and trust me, they are listening.  And like the clothes on an unwilling rape victim, the horses are the first to go, ripped off with violence and thrown aside as the malevolent evil has it’s way with the innocent.

We have to stop this by protest, by witnessing and by screaming from the rooftops that this blatant cruelty and unlawfulness has to stop and it has to stop now.  Letters, calls and contact with the mainstream press needs to continue in an effort to shine a light on the Department of Interior’s violent act of raping our public lands.  If we do not shut this process down, soon, the wild horses will truly be gone as the BLM Pimp lives for the thrill of the perversion and the rush of doing what it does because it “can”.

It’s time to bust the Pimp!

BLM Issues Temporary Closure on Public Lands
Elko, Nev.—Certain areas on public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in northwestern Elko County will be temporarily closed to public access, use and occupancy at varying times and locations from July 6 through July 31, 2010.  The temporary closure involves about 27,000 acres and is necessary to help ensure the safety of the public, contractors and government employees, and wild horses, and to ensure the orderly progress of the Tuscarora wild horse gather operations.  The public will have the opportunity to attend the gather on specifically scheduled and escorted visitation days.

The sites identified for temporary closure are locations the BLM has used during previous gathers in the Owyhee, Rock Creek and Little Humboldt Herd Management Areas over the past 10 years.  Some of the gather sites are on public land and some are on private land.  The temporary closure would be in effect only on public land.  Not all of the lands identified for temporary closure will be closed during the entire period.  The public will be authorized to use those areas where gather operations are not in progress.  Areas from which the public will be temporarily excluded will be dependent upon the actual area of operation which will be variable according to the needs of the gather contractor.  Areas temporarily closed to public access will be posted at main entry points with signs.

Once gather operations are concluded in specific areas, those portions of the public lands will be reopened.  The temporary closure may be lifted prior to July 31 if gather operations are completed before that date.

Helicopters will be used during the gather operation.  The BLM will remove about 1,100 excess wild horses from within the Owyhee, Rock Creek and Little Humboldt Herd Management Areas (HMAs) and outside of these HMAs to bring the number of wild horses in the area to the appropriate management level range of 337-561 animals.  The HMAs cover about 455,000 acres in Elko County, about 90 miles northwest of Elko, Nev.

  1. I looked at the gather schedule, I can’t believe this, and that, once again, they are starting this on private lands. This is sickening.

    • The dammmmn BLM is thumbing their nose at God and everyone. If this frustration continues, I think there may be violence.
I do not understand WHY this goes on. What is the matter with our “Representatives”?

      • Ditto, Shirley! Damn, I said I wouldn’t write anymore on this post, & here I am, furious & mad as hell, but with my hands tied, & I can’t do anything except be mad! I think maybe the ONLY legitimate “reason” for the BLM to temp. close this area, is of course so no one can witness the INHUMANE BRUTALITY they are inflicting on our wild horses! This is an OUTRAGE, & it will take more than lawsuits to stop them.

  3. Please help Herd Watch stay in the field. Donate. Buy Cafe Press tee shirts and caps, and other things with Laura Leigh’s Logo design for Herd Watch from The Cloud Foundation.

These roundups are in isolated areas and getting people out to them for the observation days is paramount. Don’t let this go on with no members of the public in attendance. We must know and see all we can of these activities that are stealing away our wild herds.

We have been through this together now and now it is coming again. Do all you have done before, writing, calling and talking to people, BLM, the White House, your reps, and friends. Help stop the roundups. Sign the petition going around. Donate to Herd Watch. Help us raise money. mar

  4. The BLM closing PUBLIC lands is outrageous! Do they close them during hunting season? Seems to me people with crossbows, rifles, and assault weapons (Yes, I’ve heard some unethical hunters have been known to use them!) are allot more dangerous to others than people with cameras.

A government agency doesn’t operate on private lands in virtual darkness unless there’s something big to hide. The BLM is obviously allergic to the SUNLIGHT this administration continues to insist is reforming national politics, policies, and laws.

Mr. Obama, you’ve been totally mute in even recognizing our pleas for fair treatment of our wild ones and advocates. It’s way past time you put your actions where your mouth is!

    • If you go to that Google website Laura listed there is a place on the right hand side of the page “suggestions” You can click on it and suggest what you would like to see. You need the Latitude and longitude for them. If a bunch of us suggest it, maybe it will happen!!!

  5. I read the “World Bank” is scrambling to buy water and aquifer rights in the west and throughout the world. Seems water is going to be more precious then oil. We don’t seem to be very successful with letters, petitions and phone calls. We are fluffed off as bleeding hearts. We need to brain storm and find a way to defeat the pimps that sell our water, land, mountains, and wild life to the highest bidder.

  6. Anyone know if this is actually legal? BP found out they couldn’t keep the public off of public beaches. Why is this different? All they have to do is set up a staging area that is safe for the public to view what they are doing.

I am sure the Cattoors demanded this.

  7. Wait a minute: CLOSING PUBLIC LANDS??!
    IS THAT A ‘LAW’??!
IF I WAS TO TAKE MY CHUBBY BEHIND AND WALK ACROSS PUBLIC LAND DURING A TEMPORARY ‘CLOSURE’, WOULD I BE ‘ARRESTED’? WOULD I BE CHARGED WITH ‘TRESSPASSING’?
ISN’T THE GIST OF PUBLIC LAND THAT IT’S THERE FOR THE PUBLIC TO USE & ENJOY WHENEVER THE MOOD IS UPON YOU?
I think someone’s overstepping their authority a little here. If there were a Public health risk or disaster – like botulism or a wildfire – then maybe this might hold a little water.
I think this should be viewed a lot like the decision brought down by the judge when Advocates filed to have the Calico roundup suspended – a suggestion that perhaps you might not want to. It couldn’t possibly be a Denial of a Right, could it?
To Ms. Emmons: since I’m no longer in school, I don’t need to be led about on a Field Trip, with a Federal docent. And since I’m a big ol’ grown up girl, I don’t need Federal folks lookin’ out for my general health or welfare (as if!); I can duck a helicopter easier than Wild Horses can.
But I seriously question the BLM’s ability to cut us off, again, from an event the Law and the WH&B Act says we have a perfect right to.
Is there any way to find out if the closure is legal or exactly how much trouble I’d be in if I decided I’d had enough of these b*tches?

  8. 2,000 years ago when Christ walked the earth our sins made Him cry. Today our sins and our crimes still cause tears not only on earth, but to all of Heaven as well.
I am not proud of Christians who stay silent when suffering, and misery happen to the poor, when the environment is degraded, and when animals are killed by government agencies or by corporate gangsters.

  9. Let’s do protests again. At the peak of Calico, the protests were so intense, and BLM has come up with a strategy to soothen us with their fairy tales of transparency. We were nice and did not protest them in Denver during the workshop- well now I regret that. They do not cooperate nor give a hoot about holding promises. They want to finish their mission this year no matter what is in the way. Please let’s do more protests !

  10. It is a shame and a disgrace to America that BLM continues on its very obstinate plan to all but eliminate the wild horse and burro populations. We must protest this vociferously and with fervor and restore the horses and burros to their rightful freedom!

  11. We do need the protests again. I think they will happen when things get rough again, although they are needed to stop the roundups. It would be great if that were possible.

BLM has been threatened, and the Cattoors, so they say they have the right to close the public land for security reasons. They are intending to allow people to observe. Under their watchful eye and not very close. mar
