FRANKTOWN, Colo. – Neglected horses came by the dozens to the Dumb Friends League on Tuesday, and that was just the beginning.
Thirty more horses will join 31 others already being treated at the Harmony Equine Center by the end of the week. These are just some of the 200 horses rescued in June by the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
They’ll be rehabilitated locally, and then made available for adoption. The Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center normally only accepts horses from Colorado but made an exception because of the size of the rescue.
The horses have abscesses, open wounds and hoof problems. Some are emaciated. They’ll need several months to recover.
Anyone who’d like to donate to the horses’ care is asked to visit ddfl.org or call 303-751-5772.

Negligence and excessive breeding having 200+ horses in bad condition. They should be in prison forever. No EXCUSE for this.
This is a great place for all Equines.
Thank you Harmony Center.

so glad that these horses part of the League Horse rescue are going to good homes. They deserve good homes after what they’ve been through.
