  1. BLM (Oregon) just recently said this – don’t know if it is true but they said they were hauling emergency hay to horses due to a fire so it CAN be legally done … and yet they couldn’t haul a little hay to these Cold Creek wild horses until the land could recover?
    BLM:
“BLM has been hauling hay and water to the remaining wild horses in the Herd Management Area.”
But oh no … they would rather pay about $1000 or so per horse of our tax money to capture the poor wild things and then KILL them rather than to be humane and spend some money on some hay to keep them from starving.

  2. Here is what BLM published about these Cold Creek wild horses and I think they had better EAT their words for advertising the beauty and now the killing and eventual extinction of this herd.
“One of the best places to see wild horses is near Cold Creek, a small
community about 45 minutes north of Las Vegas. From the northwest
side of Las Vegas, take U.S. 95 north about 20 miles, then turn left on
State Route 172 (Cold Creek Rd.). Travel about 13 miles, and the paved
road ends at the Cold Creek community.”

  3. What lieing bastards. Those horses 1st were to go to Oliver ranch, then they sent them to Utah, then I heard the were sent to Oklahoma City. In the beginning, they were not going to euthanize any of the horses. How they change their lieing breath to fit their means.

  4. And shall we mention that these wild horses’ original and legal wild horse land used to be many times larger! Look at the BLM RAS map – it was part of and in conjunction with other legal herd areas that together were very large.

  5. Does the BLM have accountability to anyone? There are rescues that would have taken these wild horses, why was no one contacted? This Obama government is not answering to anyone any more, if we do not get reports and photos, these horses most likely were secreted away to slaughter. were are those advocates that talk about how the BLM calls them if a horse is in trouble and needs help, I would like to here what they have to say—-NOW.

  6. I’m so heart broken and angry at the same time that I feel like I can’t breathe. The BLM does these things before they let the public know ~ behind the backs of the advocates that are trying to save them. There’s no “proper” words to be said. This is totally despicable and wrong.

  7. Why on earth were no rescues allowed to take these poor horses and SAVE their lives rather than killing them? Simply because the BLM wants to be proven right about what horrible condition they were in. As usual the welfare of the horses is the very last thing on the BLM’s priority list. This is absolutely disgusting and shameful.

    • They don’t notify anyone because they feel they have the final authority and we need to take that away from BLM… If any horse needs to be removed, then there should be a private board of independents, vets, rescues, and public even if the meeting has to be done via phone, skype, video, whatever! the public should have some say in the management of our lands.

  8. Well, “lookie” here. I looks like there is a massive solar energy farm going in right where those starving wild horses are being removed from? A little west of Indian Springs on the map. And to assist with this wild horse and public land grab, the BLM is re-writing the RMP to suit the desires of daddy big bucks?

Solar is great but not on our fragile public wild lands at the expense of our wildlife.

  9. BLM is a nasty part of the government. They don’t have any respect for anyone, especially the wild horses and burros. The separation of family is very sad, indeed. The poor wild horses and burros have been destroyed by BLM. Karma will walk toward BLM, too.

  10. This so horrible, horses in much worse condition are saved & nursed back to health everyday. Why can’t they wait a minute or two instead of killing them right off. This is a very sad day, I hope those horses haunt them the rest of their days, that they can’t close their eyes without seeing those innocent souls.

  11. DISMANTLE this EVIL arm of our government!! If anyone has direct information about the euthanizing please send it to bearhorse6@yahoo.com. I will be going to the March in Washington on September 29th, but will coming in the day before to see my Legislators. I am gathering all such documentation to present at that time. I believe their will be many advocates there too. Sally Jewel needs to go along with the other Crooks who are receiving pay checks paid with our tax dollars. I am going to demand accountability from Legislators!! Disgusting..Just Disgusting!!

  12. Sad. What is going on? They really are attacking all of the wild horses all over. I think they would like to cover the entire state of Nevada in solar. Killing the horses for money is just nauseating. The so-called ‘green’ or ‘alternative’ energy is nothing but a sham, no better than the traditional energy, and I’d say even worse.

    • Pretty pictures – very slick commercial! Bragging on the wild horses – even though they wont be there much longer. Another example of people infringing on wildlife – those horses cant be truly wild being so close to people. Sorry – I love seeing wildlife – all kinds, but the closer to humans – the more dangerous for the animals. This is true – no matter where you live. In NY we see deer sometimes up close & personal. At one point a few years ago – there were 4 does that lived close – and became way too tame. They are all gone now – some hit by cars – some that disappeared during hunting season. I know we did them a disservice by “getting to know them”. Sadly I feel its the same story with these horses.

  13. I am outraged at the lack of compassion for our Wild horses. They did not have to ve euthanized before a sincere effort to dave them. BLM YOU ARE BAD AND FULL OF CRAP. We are caring, loving horse owners and FULL OF COMPASSION. I GUESS WE MUST BE IN CHARGE. BLM YOU ARE COMPLETELY FIRED. ALL OF YOU ROT IN HELL ALONG WITH ALL OF THE WILD HORSES KILLED, MAMED, SLAUGHTERED, EUTHANIZED. I AM SICK OF YOUR LIES. We will NEVER FORGET ALL OF THE 100S THAT HAVE DIED AND YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS. INVESTIGATION MUST BE DONE WITH THIS SPECIAL GROUP OF WILD HORSES.
WHERE ARE THEY BURIED AND WHERE HAVE THE REST GONE TO WHAT FACILITY?
IT IS TIME TO STOP THIS BRUTALITY NOW. BLM YOU SHOULD NO LONGER BE IN CHARGE OF OUR WILD HORSES PERIOD. LET REAL CARING HORSE PEOPLE CARE FOR THEM. WE HAVE SOLUTION’S THAT WORK.

    • Exactly what were the BLM’s reasons (did they have any) for ignoring the local wild horse group for the past two years? Sounds like they had answers to the problems that are pretty obvious now. Between that lapse and not allowing anyone to take these debilitated animals to rehab them – who will the BLM blame now?
