  2. Having just heard from one of the rescues I donate to & hear from – She stopped when she saw a slaughter truck pulled over to the side of the road – saw the driver reaching thru the holes to prod a horse – she followed the truck to a place where he could unload the horses – the downed horse was not going to make it – he was a 15 year old gelding, freshly trimmed & in pretty good shape! The rescue had the driver back up to a pile of sawdust & they pulled the horse off – he died shortly after & the rescue took him back to their place & buried him. But quite frankly, anyone who “looks away because they feel bad” should have to see these pictures (and I know almost everyone here has) and realize that once this horse was unloaded – the whole rest of the horses were put back on & trucked on to slaughter. They are EVERYONE’s horses that are being forgotten.
Just had to vent – hope you all understand.
