Saving America’s Horses – A Nation Betrayed is about a journey of courage, honor and betrayal in a country divided; inspiring great hope for compassion and protection of all horses and burros from cruelty. This film explores the chronic absence of humane treatment for equines once designated as food animals in the US, and brings to surface two opposing arguments which are ironically are based on the same primary foundation of equine welfare. The film takes a look at economic and pollution history associated with the past operation of horse slaughter plants in the US; and also briefly explores the lethal health risks to humans as associated with the consumption of known toxic substances that are administered to US horses on a regular basis.
While the number of farms in Virginia decreased between 1997 and 2007, the number of farms with horses climbed to 13,520 from 10,972, helping to stave off what would have been a far greater loss of Virginia’s farmland.
SUSANVILLE – (SFTHH) The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has announced that it plans to release this week a very small number of wild horses and mules into the Twin Peaks area, where over 1,700 of the federally protected animals were cruelly and unlawfully removed last year.
It is no secret that BLM’s program for the wild horses and burros is to round them up, remove them from the range and warehouse them in holding facilities. What is a mystery is why taxpayers would foot the bill for managing wild animals in this way.

Make a difference, hit the buttons below and spread the word for the sake of the horses and burros.
Many wild horse advocates made their opinions perfectly clear, in person, to the Bureau of Land Management’s Advisory Board, during their mid-March meeting, on the issue of the BLM’s “new direction” in how the agency will mismanage the remaining few wild horses and burros that remain on their federally protected public land. Now, for those of you who could not attend, you have the opportunity to speak your mind.
