Bigotry and Racial Slurs Issued by $ue Wallis’ Husband, Rod McQuery
United Horseman's Rod McQueary's perception of Equine Advocacy
Still smarting after a dismal on-air performance, or lack of engagement, by self-appointed anti-horse/pro-slaughter mouthpiece, Wyoming state Rep. $ue Wallis on a PBS/NPR radio station, last Friday, a handful of her followers have been sending emails and making public posts on social media attacking the station, the host and her guests with defamatory comments and hate speech with Wallis’ husband, Rod McQuery, leading the way by going on public record referring to the show’s participants and anyone who displays care and concern for American’s horses as being “Nazis”
“…these Animal rights activists are doing to horse people, and their horses, what Nazis did to Jews, and unless you are a dedicated Nazi, you cannot fail to see it.” wrote McQueary on a public anti-horse/pro-slaughter Facebook page over the weekend.
McQueary continues to assail the show’s host by adding“…The three thugs who interrupted, bullied, and brutalized her got nothing but encouragement from you. Note that she thought she, alone, was invited…”
McQueary and a handful of Wallis followers have been attempting to defuse Wallis’ failure to quantify and qualify a long list of broad statements made about the horse industry including slanderous comments to the radio show’s guests, host and even the former mayor of Kaufman Texas by saying that Wallis was “ambushed” on the show and did not know that she was not the only guest. This assertion is a bold misrepresentation of the truth as the radio station, which is a call in broadcast, listed on their website, in multiple locations, the following information over 24 hours prior to the show:
Horses are an important part of our history…We built a Nation on their back…conquered and tilled the land with them, fought and won wars with them, created the first postal and transportation system with them. — Are we now going to slaughter them for foreign consumption?
Discussing the plight of horses and the legislation regarding horse slaughter, are:
- Madeleine Pickens, Philanthropist Businesswoman, dedicated to protect wild Mustangs, by creating an eco-sanctuary that would be good for horses, taxpayers, and a boost for tourism in Nevada
- Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States, taking a leading role in animal protection, and law reform that targeting inhumane practices
- R.T. Fitch, Co-founder and President of the Wild Horse Freedom Federation and the author of “Straight from the Horse’s Heart: A Spiritual Ride through Love, Loss and Hope”
- Rep. Sue Wallis, Wyoming State Legislator, a proponent and advocate for Horse Slaughter plants, that will end unnecessary pain and suffering for abandoned, starving horses, being processed under the U.S. Humane Methods of Slaughter Act. The plants will create jobs, and increase revenue for the community. She estimates between 120,000 to 200,000 horses will be killed annually for human consumption .

Likewise Wallis entered the show 30 minutes after it’s start and publicly commented that she had been listening to it prior to speaking. To that point the bulk of the program had been discussing the BLM’s mismanagement of the country’s wild horses between Ms. Pickens and R.T. Fitch with only a brief appearance and statement made by Wayne Pacelle.
When Wallis’ personal and public attack against Paula Bacon, former mayor of Kaufman Texas, was challenged she promptly left the program in an emotional and unprofessional huff. A few hours later her former organization and front for the meat industry, United Horsemen, issued a press release where within it committed the very acts of slander that the release accused the guests of allegedly committing.
Although it has been a long and heated battle to keep the horse industry separate from the meat industry the fight has taken on a new tone with McQueary’s racially bigoted comments. Litigators are now engaged in probable future action while the well documented defamatory and hate speech generated by the Wallis’ anti-horse camp continues to smolder with the smell of sour grapes laced with bigotry hanging over their dying and unpopular cause.
Frustration has mounted as the anti-horse faction continues to suffer irreparable failures in attempting to bring foreign financed horse slaughter plants back to the U.S. but their methods, tone and means of doing so have proven to be the very stuff that energizes and gives credence to the pro-horse/anti-slaughter advocacy.
With racial slurs and hate speech fully engaged the anti-horse faction has clearly documented that they truly are…their own worse enemies.

Truth has come to have no special value to too many people. It simply is one of the items on the buffet, to be put on the plate or left on the table as the whim of the moment dictates.
It can be a moment of stark realization that pretending that you know what you are doing is of no value.

That’s ridiculous. I would say that if you’re going to compare horse slaughter with the holocaust, it’s the pro-slaughter people sending the horses to concentration camps & extermination. Their comment makes no sense at all. They baffle themselves with their own B.S. Their immature words & tactics say much more about themselves than anyone else.

When I think of horse slaughter I too think of the holocaust. I think of how the people felt on the trains knowing where they were going and not being able to stop it. It was mental torment as well as physical. As it is for the horses going to slaughter. As if the slaughter is not enough the mental torture of knowing something bad is going to happen is what really pains me. The fear and anguish of an extended amount of time is as bad as the physical abuse they suffer until the end.
I am not a radical animal rights extremist. I only love horses and think that their lives are precious. We don’t need the food that badly that these animals need to suffer so. Vicky Tobin of EWA was right when she said to the Wallis clan that this is a food issue not the welfare of the horse issue. We all know that horse slaughter does nothing for the welfare of the horse. Only for the pockets of a few.
Please remember that 80% of American’ s are against horse slaughter and when calling people insulting names like Nazi’s you are calling out a lot of people. I hope that this puts an end to the pro-slaughter agenda and we can get back to rescuing horses in need instead of wasting time and money fighting off this despicable business.
Keep in mind folks it is only 1% to 2% of the whole equine industry but we are spending 100% of our time putting it to rest. Lets get to the business of saving horses and rebuilding the equine industry and making it a good respectable business to be in instead of the corrupt and seedy business it currently is.

Lynette, I’m not sure if you misunderstood my comment or if you’re agreeing with me. 🙂 I agree with you. I’m disagreeing with the pro-slaughter people saying that WE are like the nazis. I think their belief that WE are acting like nazis is ridiculous when they are the ones that want to continue to send horses thru the slaughter pipeline & horrible deaths. So, if anyone is going to compare anyone to the nazis, it would be the pro-slaughter people that are like the nazis, not the anti-slaughter people.

Actually, I was agreeing with you when you said it is the pro-slaughter people who are sending horses to concentration camps and extermination, like an animal holocaust. But I really wanted to point out that I think the mental torture horses face in the slaughter pipeline is horrible and few people ever consider just how such despicable treatment must play on the minds of the horses as well as the physical. All horse lovers know how sensitive they are and we all know they suffer at every step of slaughter, from being taken from their familiar homes to the auction to the overcrowded trucks to the slaughter plant. It just must be the worst thing ever to put an animal through. Just call me a “bleeding heart”, I’ll take that label.

Maybe Mr. McQueary should read “Eternal Treblinka: Our Treatment of Animals and the Holocaust,” by Jewish writer Charles Patterson. He would find that his wife’s plans for horses are tragically similar to the SS’s “Final Solution” for the 6 million Jewish people who perished in concentration camps.

I am not surprised at their behavior , when knowing full well that there is no viable reason and no viable argument for Horse Slaughter , in their minds they thought they would have no trouble convince the American Public , realizing on the show that the American public is getting well informed as to their greed and the out and out lies about Horse Slaughter they are trying to jam down their throats…..SS Walrus (darn type Os ) turn her pointed tail when she realized that she would be put out on the carpet for her lies and greed………………..and ran ………………. I detest anyone making comparisons to Nazism. What the Nazis did was horrid and will go down in history as one of the most brutal times of man turning against man. To even compare anyone to a Nazi is insulting and belittling the experience that thousands of Jewish people lived through or died in. This shows how low Sue and spouse will go. If you don’t like the actions of someone say so but don’t use the Nazis as part of it. I’m certainly extremely happy that they will be litigated against. Enough is enough.

You’re right, Morgan. But there are so many now to whom WWII is ancient history. Those of us who remember either the war itself, or, like me, the aftermath and the newsreel footage are getting pretty rare. These others have absolutely NO sense of the horror of Nazism and what the Nazis were planning to do it they had, God forbid, won.
It’s not only sad, it’s scary, because it’s really true that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. And people like Wallis and spouse obviously have learned nothing or they wouldn’t be throwing that name around so cavalierly..

I actually thought of the Nazis too – when I was reading about the Wallis/Duquette plan to build a horse “rescue and rejuvenation” facility along side a slaughter plant in Oregon. The Nazis similar portrayed to the public that their “camps” were for “education” and “fun”. They didn’t mention the gassing and ovens… It’s really insidious what Wallis/Duquette are planning – to draw in owners with the promises of “rescue and rejuvenation” and then the horses are led out the back to the slaughter plant waiting right there. It’s beyond cruel and inhumane. And Nuremberg can’t come soon enough.

I’m so glad that so many see the true about the Wallis-Duquette Rescue-Rehab-Slaughter-Processing plant. Why can’t more see what they propose is just smoke and mirrors, to play on peoples feelings, making them think their horses are going to have a second chance. We all know that they will take them in the front door with promises of a new life, Dave will take the ones with the best pedigree’s and capable of getting high prices, train and resell them and all the others will get the stamp of “MEAT” on their butt’s. With 80% of American’s against horse slaughter, lets hope we can get them all to wake up at the same time and come out in force and stop this horrendous act against horses.

This type of response is very typical of them. They scream injustice and then want to project injustice to others and horses. All they have is their mouth and the media and it is failing them also! They are scrambling like roaches for a speck of validation from anyone or anything. If they can find anything to jump on the band wagon with them and say that she was done wrong, then we will have another media blitz. The sad thing is that they do it to themselves and blame others all the time, while we move on and they keep it going. Natzi’s? Sadly they are the one wanting to march poor innocent victims to the death chamber! Not us! We are fight to keep something alive not kill it! The only thing I can add is that the proof that we are not NAZI’S is the fact that Sue, her nonsensical husband, dear Dave, and a few of her planted supporters are still walking around free. Nazis just would have grabbed then and sent them to a secret place, never to be heard of again. Have any of you seen the documentary “Auschwitz”? It recounts not just Auschwitz and the horrors there but also several other death camps. It recounts how the Germans learned to gas the Jews. It’s a very hard movie to watch but people need to see it to ensure this NEVER happens again.

I understand your anger about this whole situation…The Gestapo and the SS were beyond being evil…. But actually, Oscar Schindler was a Nazi officer (who actually had a conscience). He lied to the higher-ups to protect the Jews working at his factories…He lied about their ages, their skills, and many of them survived the war because of his efforts….I do not think that anyone affiliated with the BLM has the courage to stand up for the innocent ones…..I went to just one of their auctions….The horses and burros were petrified and confused, all calling out to one another…It was horrible, beyond words…..made me sick to my stomach…However, the reps. from the BLM, who were handling the horses and burros seemed to be really caring individuals. This was very confusing for me?? I always worry about the innocent ones… who have three strikes against them….. Is there an Oscar Schindler who works for the BLM?? I doubt it…….

One thing I’ve noticed is, Wallis & camp, do a lot of Projection. That is, project onto, accuse others what the crazy, crass eaters do, feel, say. It has been going on for a very long time and is a classic psychological defense mechanism. And here we have Nazis ~ Who are the bullies? Just maybe Wallis… with too many, so many examples. For one, insisting a horse slaughter plant WILL be built in Missouri, end of discussion. To feed poison horse meat to those in prisons, orphanages, schools, elderly. Even babies, for as Wallis proclaimed, they need protein for their developing brains. And it goes on, too numerous to mention. And her insanity is getting very tiring. One wishes the mental health professionals could, would, take her on (in a locked ward). We all know her bullying, rants, raves, lies. Hate speech? Its been weeks, months, over a year that the HSUS has been big time defamed. Along with other “radical animal rights” groups. Meaning, anyone who-does-not-want-to-kill-horses. And now well-respected, influential Paula Bacon, Madeleine Pickens, RT Fitch, and of course, Wayne Pacelle (HSUS). And most importantly, the holocaust of our domestic and wild horses. A classic Nazi scenario.

It really doesn’t matter about the garbage that is Wallis and the sham orgs she and DD represent; this is about the legislatures, judiciary and enforcers of same that allow it to happen at state and Fed levels.
I believe we can throw the disappointing Obama administration in too; enablers are sometimes worse than the perpetrators.

Thanks for your input and the reality check….I watched some videos from the Canadian Horse Defense where (at the slaughter house) they actually took the time to remove the shoes…This made me very angry because many of the innocent ones are trained to lift their feet to have their hoofs picked and lift them for the farrier…..I also watched a video from “Animals Angels” undercover work from a rendering plant in New Jersey…(to feed zoo animals) There were many barrels filled with the legs from horses from the race track…with the racing shoes still intact…How Insane!! I agree WHAHH-WHAHH!! I do contact my reps & senators…some are in & some have no clue….Will keep on plugging away………THANKS!

BTW…my point wasn’t to equate the taking of death camp bound humans possessions (still being hashed out this day) with death bound equines (horseshoes).
My point was about the brutality in judging death and value by some very sick humans.
I see no difference on many levels between WW2 Germany, Japan and the horse killers/eaters…just levels of how low can you go. At a certain point, the humans that put up with this inhumanity or perpetrate it (human or animals)….are a scourge on the earth.

Human and humane haven’t meant the same since the reign of the Third Reight so we must continue to stay united, focused, work our congressman/senators with the truth on the bloody inhumane slaughtering of our horses and sharing with the American people – the truth will prevail. Of course funding our cause like the ag lobbyists would be helpful but we’re still doing, Advocates!
